Sanctions on Iran, IMO 2020, the Price of Gasoline, and the Coming US Election (April 1, 2019)

The decision will be made as oil production in Venezuela collapses, as Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other OPEC+ members continue to restrain oil output, as the deadline for the IMO 2020 rule approaches, and under a cloud of uncertainty regarding the global economic situation. The decision will also be made in the context of the US election coming in 2020. Given the apparent slowing of the US economy, it seems likely that most of the waivers will be extended.
