Energy in the Crosshairs: Global Consequences of Trump's Trade Aggression (August 6, 2018)

 

It is becoming impossible to disregard one policy being pushed by the Trump administration: the trade war. Last week, the president threatened to double the proposed tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese exports to twenty-five percent. Last Friday, China responded, listing $60 billion of US exports that would also be subject to a twenty-five-percent tariff. According to Politico, "U.S. energy exports like biodiesel and liquified natural gas" were included on the list. The proposed Chinese tariffs will affect the energy sector.
