Economic Competition/Price Wars: Threat to Legacy Economic Entities (May 1, 2023)

 

May 1, or “May Day,” is a traditional holiday in many countries. The first of May, for instance, was a “symbol of class struggle in Russia for about 100 years (1890-1990). Workers held annual protests on this day from 1890 to 1917, demanding better work conditions and higher wages.” For decades since then, Russia has marked the occasion with elaborate military parades. We use our May 1 issue to examine the disruptive threat of economic competition and price wars to legacy economic entities.
