Rising diesel prices have suddenly caught the general and financial press’s attention. This should not surprise anyone. Reporters and other “ambulance-chasing” commentators are always a day late and a dollar short. This problem was obvious six months ago when the war began. The newfound awareness likely signals, though, that the issue is nearing its end. Forty years of data—information the ambulance chasers and mainstream reporters ignore—suggest prices may be peaking.
