Oil at the Precipice? (April 12, 2021)

On September 28, 2018, an expert on world trade published a column on the future direction of oil prices. The piece was titled "The Upward March of Oil Prices Shows Few Signs of Stopping."[1] His forecast was dead wrong. WTI prices plunged from $75 per barrel on October 1, 2018, to less than $50 at the end of the year. Oil markets today are poised for a similar fall.
