A contractor building a data center told The Wall Street Journal, “The cash is not an issue for these people [AI firms]” in describing the rush to construct centers. The message applies to all aspects of the artificial intelligence industry. Its insatiable demand for energy will distort US markets.

 

Consequently, US firms that export natural gas, and perhaps trucking companies and drivers, will suffer great harm thanks to a recent Environmental Protection Agency decision. Qatar will emerge as a big winner.
