Moving to a New, Higher Crude Oil Price Plateau (January 2014)

 

Taken together, the current influences on crude oil prices, described in detail in this issue, will send prices higher over the next decade. At times, the movement will be smooth. At others, prices may spike, particularly when revolutions or natural disasters disrupt markets. World oil consumers have little to look forward. Ironically, this outlook is good news for the United States.
