When Will We Know We Have Reached the Bottom? (January 12, 2015)

 

A "Black Sunday" may be coming for Canada's oil sands projects. The original Black Sunday took place on May 2, 1982. It was the day Exxon pulled the plug on the Parachute Shale oil project on Colorado's Western Slope. The next Black Sunday may be visited on Calgary instead of Colorado. At current prices, almost every large company would be better off shutting down their operations in Alberta in order to let their other big projects survive. This week's report provides the details and discusses the implications.
