Is the EU Irrelevant? Important Implications for Energy Markets (July 1, 2013)

 

Europe is marching slowly toward irrelevancy and oblivion. It serves less and less of a purpose in the world scheme. In fact, it might not be missed if it shut down entirely. To be clear, the EU bureaucrats in Brussels are killing the region with "Iron Maiden" regulations. New proposed regulations to regulate oil price reporting provide the latest example of bureaucratic overreach. These rules would guarantee that no price-reporting agency could operate in Europe.
