Black Truffles, Crude Oil, Economic Illiterati (February 1, 2016)

During a lunch in Provence, Jean Louis (not his real name), one of the world’s largest truffle traders and producers, provided me with the market view of a well-educated French farmer. Sadly, few if any people who follow the world oil market have his understanding. These individuals operate in a Wonderland where an agreement between Saudi Arabia and others could successfully lift prices. One wants to say, "Sorry Alice, this is not how the world works."
